I am a General Insurance Actuary with more than 25 years’ experience in UK insurance. My work has crossed pricing, underwriting, connected vehicles, data science, distribution, product development and technology.
That breadth matters because most insurance outcomes are produced by the system around the model: the questions asked at quote, the data available, the product rules, the customer journey, the operating controls and the speed at which claims experience returns to pricing.
PRICING AND CONNECTED INSURANCE
From models to operating decisions
I worked in senior pricing and telematics roles, including Head of Pricing at Markerstudy. Connected-car data taught me to treat exposure as something that can be observed and shaped, not merely approximated through traditional rating factors.
MYPOLICY AND JURNY
Building through to acquisition
I helped build MyPolicy and the JURNY pay-per-mile proposition across product, pricing, telematics, distribution and technology. MyPolicy grew from approximately £2m to £40m in GWP over about 2.5 years before the businesses were acquired by Acorn Insurance. The result was produced by a wider team; my contribution centred on product development, pricing and the connected operating model.
INSURELAB.AI
Applying those lessons at InsureLab.ai
Today I am Co-Founder, CEO and Chief Actuary of InsureLab.ai. We build insurance infrastructure for brokers, MGAs and insurers, including rating, validation, fraud intelligence and governed AI. This personal site remains separate: it is where I publish the reasoning and frameworks behind that work.
